Kentucky Man Unleashes Raccoon In Store After Mule Police Chase

In Murray, Kentucky, Jonathan Mason, 40, released a raccoon into a local business, resulting in a customer being bitten. This incident follows his previous arrest for attempting to evade police on a mule. Authorities noted Mason's unconventional methods of transportation and animal involvement in both cases.
Following the raccoon incident, Mason was charged with second-degree assault and criminal trespassing. Previously, in December 2024, he led police on a low-speed chase through downtown Murray atop a mule, refusing to stop despite officers' commands. Witnesses reported Mason mistreating the mule, leading to additional animal cruelty charges.
In December 2024, Mason's mule evasion ended with his arrest after a 15-mile ride into town, highlighting his persistent use of unconventional escape methods.
