Thailand Boy, 8, Joins Dog Pack: Barking Echoes Outrun Family Neglect

Thailand boy, 8, barked with a pack of stray dogs in Uttaradit after family neglect—his mother and brother tested positive for drugs, and police intervened following viral searches for “child raised by animals” and “can a child learn to bark?” Officer Hongsakul reported: “He found the love and attention he craved from a pack of dogs.”
The canine-barking twist began in a drug-ridden district where neighbors avoided the family, prompting searches like “what happens if a child lives with animals?” and “how do neglected children behave?” The boy, called ‘A’, was discovered imitating dog behavior, outbarking his own abandonment, and is now learning human speech at Uttaradit Children’s Home.
Uttaradit police confirmed the boy only attended school once—to collect benefits—before perfecting his bark, leaving local children more confused than the family’s own dogs.
