This summer, festival-goers' urine is getting a second act as the secret ingredient in environmentally friendly beer, courtesy of climate scientists determined to make brewing even weirder. In 2015, Denmark's Roskilde Festival launched the "From Piss to Pilsner" initiative, collecting 54,000 liters of festival-goers' urine to fertilize barley fields. By 2017, this barley yielded "Pisner," a beer brewed by Nørrebro Bryghus, closing the loop from festival pee to eco-friendly pint.
