$10,000 bond after plane fight over Miss Piggy insult flight

A flight from Orlando to Maryland was delayed over Memorial Day weekend after a woman allegedly struck a child moments before takeoff at Sanford Orlando International Airport. Police say the woman, Kristy Crampton, had been returning from a Disney World trip with a group that included the child when the confrontation began on the plane. Witnesses told officers the child said Crampton was too large for her seat and called her fat and Miss Piggy, prompting the alleged outburst. According to reports, Crampton punched the child, hit them with a water bottle, and slammed their head against the airplane window as they tried to block the blows. Crampton told investigators the child was very rude and disrespectful and said she only began smacking them after they pushed her arm off the armrest twice. A witness disagreed, telling police, “The woman was not correcting the child; she was abusing him.” A judge set a $10,000 bond and ordered no contact with the child.
