American Airlines CEO Sues Airline Over In-Flight Incident

American Airlines CEO Robert Isom has initiated legal action against his own airline after an incident where several Black passengers were removed from a flight due to complaints about body odor. The lawsuit alleges that the airline's procedures failed, leading to racial discrimination and a breach of company values.
The incident occurred on a January flight from Phoenix to New York, where eight Black men were asked to deboard following a flight attendant's complaint. The passengers, who did not know each other and were seated separately, were later allowed back on the plane after an hour-long delay.
Isom stated, 'I am incredibly disappointed by what happened on that flight and the breakdown of our procedures.'
