Lee and Mandy Trivett, both 58, booked a £2,215 stay at Tasia Maris Hotel in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, seeking relaxation. Instead, their 'deluxe' balcony overlooked a bustling construction site, complete with scaffolding and forklifts operating from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., making it impossible to enjoy their morning coffee or evening tea.

Despite the hotel's initial appearance, the Trivetts were shocked to discover the constant noise and dust from the adjacent building work. Lee remarked, 'We couldn't even sit out on the balcony. The last thing you wanted to look at was that.'

Jet2 claimed guests acknowledged nearby construction during booking, but the Trivetts insist they were unaware until arrival, feeling their £2,215 holiday was wasted.
