Robot dogs wearing the faces of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg stunned crowds at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2025.
The installation, called Regular Animals, was created by digital artist Beeple, whose real name is Mike Winkelmann. Each robot dog is fitted with a hyper realistic silicone face.
During the performance, a dog stops, leans back, and prints an AI generated image from its rear as a small screen flashes the words POOP MODE.
Some dogs resemble Jeff Bezos, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and Winkelmann himself. Cameras embedded around their heads constantly photograph visitors and the surrounding space.
That visual data is processed into new AI images shaped by each face. A Picasso dog produces fractured cubist scenes, while the Zuckerberg version generates slick digital imagery.
Winkelmann said the work explores how tech leaders shape how people see the world through algorithms. All robot dogs reportedly sold for $100,000 each, proving even absurd art finds buyers.
